CHICHICASTENANGO & PANAJACHEL FULL DAY
TOURChichicastenango is a small town located 145 Km (88 Milles) fromGuatemala City by Pan-American Road. The Quichétown is surrounded by hills and fields that keep jealously the inhabitant’s traditions and peasant dress. In the Central Plaza you can find the famous open market where the people from neighboring towns converges to market handicrafts. The people trades handicrafts and then, the open market explodes of color and tradition. The Santo Tomáschurch is a good example of the colonial architecture and it was built in 1541 over a pre-Hispanic ceremonial site. The native and Christian rituals are shared inside and outside of church. The church has a stair with 18 steps and here you can see to the Chuchkajau, a Mayan priest praying and burning ear of corn with copal.The next destination is Panajachel, where the beautiful lake Atitlan has been inspiration to artists with amazing landscape and deep blue water.
